Key DH Technologies Named One of “Canada’s Sustainability Changemakers” by Sustainable Development Technology Canada

Sustainable Development Technology Canada (SDTC) has named Key DH Technologies Inc. to the inaugural list of “Canada’s Sustainability Changemakers.” This distinction is awarded annually by SDTC to companies that have shown outstanding growth over the last few years and with a track record of delivering on SDTC’s mandate of sustainability and economic benefits for Canada.
Key DH Technologies Chairman, President and CEO Andrew T.B. Stuart received the award on behalf of the company at SDTC’s Annual Leadership Summit in Ottawa on May 18, 2022.
“To be recognized as one of Canada’s Sustainability Changemakers inspires us to move further and faster along the innovation highway to scale clean technology and achieve meaningful results,” Stuart said. “We are honoured to receive this recognition and thank SDTC for supporting Key DH Technologies in achieving sustainability leadership.”
The award reflects Key DH Technologies’ progress in developing innovation-driven businesses in the deuterium and hydrogen industries to create a healthier, cleaner and more connected world. Key DH Technologies’ three main operating companies are: Hydrogen Optimized, a developer of patented RuggedCell™ water electrolysis systems for the large-scale production of green hydrogen; Isowater®, a world-leading supplier of deuterium oxide to global customers in the life sciences, high technology and environmental science sectors; and deutraMed™, a breakthrough deuterium science and innovation company that provides clients with high-value deuterium-containing products for specialized applications along with IP-driven research and services.

François-Philippe Champagne, Minister of Innovation, Science and Industry, said in an SDTC news release announcing the awards. “That’s why we support Canadian successes as they cement Canada’s position as a global leader in sustainable technology. These ten companies are driving economic prosperity, creating jobs, and putting us on the path to a net-zero carbon economy. Congratulations to Canada’s Sustainability Changemakers for 2022!”

According to the SDTC news release, companies are selected for the designation based on five criteria:
- Annual revenues steadily over $10 million.
- Compound annual growth of 20% or more over the last three years.
- Significant sustainable environmental benefits.
- Global footprint.
- Canadian presence and contribution to the local economy.
